ChopChop ("we", "our", or "the app") is a meal-planning tool. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app and why.
We collect the email address and password you enter at sign-up, the household and pantry information you enter, and any preferences or feedback you submit. This data is stored on our servers and used solely to provide and improve the service.
When you use the app our servers receive your IP address and standard HTTP metadata (device type, OS version, app version). We use this to operate the service and diagnose problems. We do not sell this data.
When you generate a meal plan your pantry text and household preferences are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce the plan. This data is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not use your pantry data for any purpose other than generating your requested plan.
We use Firebase/Google Analytics to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are visited and which features are used) so we can improve it. This involves device and usage identifiers processed by Google as our analytics provider. We do not use this data for advertising. See Google's Firebase privacy information for details.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription status data to determine your entitlements; we do not receive or store your payment card details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
If you grant notification permission, we store your device push token to deliver meal-plan reminders and voting alerts. You can revoke permission at any time in your device settings.
Your account data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account screen in the app (Account → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
For a full export or to request deletion via email (for example if you can no longer access the app), contact us at the address below. Email requests are actioned within 30 days.
ChopChop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
