This policy governs the content that users upload, publish, or share on ChopChop and forms part of our Terms of Use. By accepting the Terms you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read this policy and agree to comply with it.
You are solely responsible for all photos, information, comments, recipes, and other content you upload, publish, or share. You confirm that you own the content or hold all rights, licences, permissions, and consents necessary to post it, and you bear full legal responsibility for any content that is unlawful or infringes third-party rights.
The following content is not permitted on ChopChop:
If you believe content violates this policy or infringes your rights, you can report it using the report button inside the app on any post or comment, or by emailing chooo.chop@gmail.com with a description of the content and the reason for your report. We may ask for additional information to identify the content and the right or policy you believe has been violated.
If you believe content infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property right, please include in your report: your name and contact details; identification of the right you own; identification of the allegedly infringing content; and a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the content is not authorised by the rights holder. Where a sufficient basis exists to believe content infringes third-party rights, we may remove or restrict it in accordance with applicable law.
Any person who appears in a photo or piece of content and believes its publication violates their privacy or portrait rights may submit a report. We may ask for verification information and will remove or restrict the content where a violation is established.
Upon receiving a report we may review the content and information provided and take any of the following actions: take no action where no violation is found; restrict visibility; remove the content; issue a warning; restrict account features; suspend the account; or terminate the account in serious or repeated cases. We may also retain relevant information or provide it to competent authorities where required or permitted by law.
Accounts that repeatedly violate third-party rights, our Terms, or this policy may be suspended or permanently terminated, subject to any rights and procedures required by applicable law.
If your content was removed or your account was restricted and you believe this was incorrect, you may appeal by emailing chooo.chop@gmail.com with the subject line "Content Appeal", the reason for your appeal, and any supporting documentation. We will review your appeal in accordance with applicable law.
Using the reporting system to harass other users or submitting reports you know to be false is prohibited and may result in action being taken against your account.
Unless required by law, making content-upload functionality available does not mean we review or endorse all content before it is published. You remain solely responsible for your content. We reserve the right to use human, technical, or automated means to detect, review, or restrict content that may violate this policy where appropriate and permitted.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChopChop and its owners and operators are not liable for photos, information, or content uploaded or published by users on their own initiative. The user who uploaded the content is responsible for its lawfulness and for holding all necessary rights, licences, and consents. This does not relieve ChopChop of any obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded, or of required action following receipt of a valid report or actual knowledge of unlawful content.
Content and associated information may be retained or disclosed to competent authorities where required or permitted by law or in response to a valid official request, and only to the extent necessary.
