These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the ChopChop team ("we", "our", or "the app"). By creating an account or tapping "I Accept" you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Content & Reporting Policy. Choosing not to read them after they have been made available does not relieve you of these obligations, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To create a ChopChop account you must be at least 21 years old and have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement under applicable law. By registering you confirm the accuracy of your age and identity and accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
Once an account exists, younger family members (including children) may use the Family & Friends (F&F) timeline within your household under your supervision. The F&F timeline is a private, family-friendly space with no minimum age.
The World Wide (WW) public timeline is restricted to users who are 21 years of age or older. Access to the WW timeline requires a separate in-app age confirmation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChopChop is not liable for outcomes directly caused by deliberate circumvention of these age requirements.
ChopChop is available in multiple countries and regions. Your use is subject to the mandatory laws applicable in your jurisdiction. Where any provision conflicts with a mandatory legal rule, that rule applies to the extent required and the remaining provisions stay in force.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must not impersonate another person, create an account with false or misleading information, or allow unauthorised access to your account. Notify us promptly if you discover any unauthorised use.
ChopChop offers optional paid subscriptions processed by Apple App Store and Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. All purchases are subject to the relevant payment platform's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Meal plans, recipes, and food-scan results are produced by automated or AI-assisted processes and are provided for informational and guidance purposes only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. ChopChop does not guarantee correct identification of food type, ingredients, quantities, nutritional values, or allergens. Results do not constitute medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Always apply your own judgement regarding food safety and dietary restrictions.
You retain any intellectual-property rights you lawfully hold in content you upload. By uploading content you grant ChopChop a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, host, store, copy, process, analyse, display, make available, and technically adapt it to the extent necessary to operate and develop the service. You confirm you own the content or hold all rights, licences, permissions, and consents required.
You must not upload or publish a photo containing an identifiable person unless you have the legal right and all necessary consents. You bear full legal responsibility for any claim relating to portrait rights, privacy, or personal data arising from content you upload. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChopChop is not liable for such claims.
You must not upload, publish, or share content that is stolen, forged, copied without right, or used without the necessary permissions. You are responsible for any intellectual-property, privacy, or third-party rights violations arising from your content. ChopChop may remove content, restrict it, and suspend or terminate your account in accordance with law and our Content & Reporting Policy.
You agree not to: upload unlawful, fraudulent, or privacy-violating content; infringe third-party rights; impersonate others; threaten or unlawfully incite others; transmit malware or attempt to breach systems; reverse-engineer the app; circumvent usage limits; or use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
Content you publish may be saved, copied, or re-shared by other users. When you delete content we work to remove it from active systems in accordance with our retention policy and legal requirements. Independent copies held by third parties outside our control may remain, and to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not responsible for their independent use.
We may retain or disclose your data to judicial, law-enforcement, regulatory, or other competent authorities where required or permitted by law or in response to a valid official request, and only to the extent necessary.
If ChopChop or its operating entity is sold, merged, acquired, restructured, or transfers its business or assets, your data and content may transfer to the acquirer or legal successor in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
We may carry out updates, maintenance, or technical changes, and some features may be temporarily unavailable. ChopChop does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for interruptions or failures reasonably outside our control.
ChopChop is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, subject to rights that cannot be excluded by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChopChop, its owners, operators, directors, employees, affiliates, and service providers are not liable for damages or losses arising from your content, your infringement of third-party rights, false or misleading information you provide, your unlawful use, stolen or forged content you upload, re-sharing of content outside our control, your reliance on AI-generated results, or the acts of other users for which we are not responsible under law. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChopChop and its operating entity from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your infringement of third-party rights, or unlawful content you upload or publish.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, use the app unlawfully, or if your conduct threatens the safety of the service or its users, subject to rights and procedures required by applicable law. You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app.
We may update these Terms when we develop the service or when legal requirements change. We will make the updated version available and will provide notice or request fresh consent where required by law.
If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable in a particular jurisdiction, that does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions, and unenforceability is limited to the extent required by law.
By tapping "I Accept", you confirm that these Terms were made available to you before acceptance, that you had the opportunity to read them, and that you agree to be bound by them. Choosing not to read them after they were made available does not relieve you of your obligations, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Electronic acceptance constitutes agreement to the extent recognised by applicable law.
